SUM UP OF 2019

The ending of 2019 brought many challenges and even more possibilities to grow, learn, create and work together. During 2019, the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg V-A Lithuania-Poland Cooperation Programme monitored 85 projects, checked  more than 260 Progress reports of the projects. During 2019 the 4th call for project applications for the Interreg V-A Lithuania-Poland Programme was performed. We received 66 applications on time: 35 applications with the Lead Beneficiaries from Lithuania (the biggest number of applications from Alytus and Kaunas counties) and 31 applications with the Lead Beneficiaries from Poland. The total value of the submitted projects amounts EUR 43,4 million.

The European Cooperation Day was celebrated at the discussion festival “Būtent!” in Birštonas on 6-7 September. The European Cooperation Day aim is to promote regions and countries that are participating in cross-border cooperation. This year celebration lasted for two days and was full of activities, meetings, conversations and discussions. Lithuania-Poland Programme together with other cross-border cooperation programmes had its own tent dedicated to this event. The tent hit popularity and was visited by many people - grown-ups and children, sportsmen, students, managers, teachers, mayor, minister and many more.

The 6th Joint Monitoring Committee of the Programme took place in June 2019 in Giżycko. The JMC members approved the Annual Implementation Report 2018 of the Programme, the Programme Manual applicable for the 4th call for proposals, and adopted a decision to launch the 4th call for proposals on June 10, 2019 with the deadline for the project submission on September 30, 2019.

Joint Secretariat together with Regional Contact Points organised five trainings in Druskininkai, Suwałki as well, held individual consultations to learn more about the Programme, submitting application and reporting.

This year the first meeting of the Programming Task Force post 2020 Lithuania-Poland Cross-border Cooperation Programme took place in Vilnius. During the meeting it was agreed to run a questionnaire for potential beneficiaries to identify the needs of the Programme territory regions, as well to organize specialised workshops.

Let's move to the coming year with new energy and commitment!
