EU Debates “Dialogue on Youth & European Cooperation”

On 23 June our Interreg V-A Lithuania-Poland Programme’s project partner – Kaunas technology university took part in online debates “Dialogue on Youth & European Cooperation”.

The debates were organised by the European Commission and Interact Programme. As part of the Interreg 30 campaign, the dialogue aims to engage youth to share their views on their role shaping the future EU cooperation policies.

The discussions focused on three main questions: what is the added value of EU cooperation, what are the most important goals or challenges for young people that should be addressed by the European Territorial Cooperation, and what solutions should be put in place to ensure young people are well represented in designing EU Territorial Cooperation Policy .

The participants agreed that it is crucial to maintain collaborative relationships with Programme stakeholders in order to participate in initiatives and submit proposals to the Programme. In order to encourage youth participation and awareness of the program among young people, the possibility of volunteering and additional publicity of the program was discussed.

Ideas gathered during the debates will feed into the Manifesto for Young People by Young People to Shape the European Territorial Policy, which will be presented by EU Commissioner Elisa Ferreira during the Interreg Annual Event Youth 2020 in October.
