MEETING OF PROGRAMMING TASK FORCE FOR PREPARATION OF THE 2021-2027 LITHUANIA-POLAND CROSS BORDER COOPERATION PROGRAMME

On 9th March, the virtual meeting of the Programming Task Force (PTF) regarding future Lithuania-Poland Cross-border Cooperation Programme members took place. It was already the eighth meeting of the PTF and the second one this year.

At the meeting, the Needs and Potentials Analysis external experts – the company JSC Smart Continent LT – presented the amended version of the document, that incorporates the main corrections and interventions given by the PTF members. After a discussion, the PTF approved the document.

The Needs and Potential Analysis delivers an evidence-based diagnosis for the preparation of the cross-border cooperation programme Interreg 2021-2027 between Lithuania and Poland and indicates the possible advantages, cooperation trends, problems and challenges of the cross-border area. The following three Policy Objectives were selected for further analysis for the 2021-2027 Interreg Lithuania Poland Programme:

  1. A greener, low-carbon Europe by promoting clean and fair energy transition, green and blue investment, the circular economy, climate adaptation and risk prevention and management (Policy Objective 2 (PO2));
  2. A more social Europe implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights (Policy Objective 4 (PO4)),
  3. A better cooperation governance (Interreg Specific Objective (ISO)).

The next PTF meeting is scheduled for 9th April.
