Project Time is Now for Change was shortlisted for the EU Regiostars Award 2020!

We are very happy to announce that our Interreg V-A Lithuania-Poland Programme’s project LT-PL-1R-015 Time is now for change was shortlisted for the EU Regiostars Award 2020.

The Project is successful example of sharing cross border experience of the Alytus City Community Centre and the Elk City Municipality. The Alytus City Community Center used the experience of Elk colleagues working with youth at risk and established a system of specialists working in the streets to engage the youth. The project showed very good results, therefore the initiative was continued after the end of the project and it receives annual support by the Lithuanian Ministry of Social Affairs and spread nationwide.

The Regiostars is an annual awards competition organised by the European Commission’s, which aim is to award EU-funded projects which demonstrate excellence and new approaches in regional development. This year the European Commission received 206 submissions for the 2020 Regiostars reaching the record. The Project Time is now for change was selected in the category Youth Empowerment through 30 years of Interreg. In addition to that category there are four more categories in the competition: industrial transition, circular economy, skills&education for a digital Europe, citizen engagement.
