Project summary:
The project addresses key healthcare challenges in the Polish-Lithuanian border region, focusing on improving access to specialized and high-quality medical services for patients with gastrointestinal diseases. Challenges include underinvestment in equipment, adapting medical solutions to the aging population, continuous training of medical personnel, integration of artificial intelligence in diagnosis, and raising public awareness about prevention, early detection, and healthy lifestyles. The project aims to reduce disparities in gastroenterological care through cross-border cooperation, improving the knowledge and skills of medical staff, and enhancing service quality via innovative endoscopy equipment. Activities include implementing a cross-border monitoring system to register patients and share medical data, training 50 medical and support staff in Białystok and Tauragė, organizing two conferences on prevention and treatment for local residents, developing a trilingual educational platform, and conducting preventive programs for 250 vulnerable people in the border area. The target group includes residents of Podlaskie Voivodeship and Tauragė County, as well as participating doctors, medical personnel, and patients. The project fosters systemic cross-border solutions, strengthens cooperation between medical institutions, and promotes public health awareness. Ultimately, it aims to institutionalize a cross-border treatment model that integrates quality management, scientific innovations, and best practices in gastrointestinal care.
