Project summary:
The project aims to improve the accessibility, quality and efficiency of healthcare services in the Lithuanian–Polish border region by strengthening cooperation between healthcare providers in Sejny (Poland) and Lazdijai (Lithuania). It addresses common challenges of border areas, including limited access to specialised diagnostic services, insufficient healthcare infrastructure and the need for stronger cooperation between medical institutions.
A key element of the project is the modernisation of radiology services through the purchase of advanced digital imaging equipment, enabling faster and more accurate diagnostics, improved patient care and more efficient work of medical staff. The project also supports the exchange of knowledge and experience between healthcare professionals, including the development of new approaches such as telemedicine and artificial intelligence-based solutions.
By creating sustainable cooperation mechanisms, improving healthcare infrastructure and developing a cross-border healthcare knowledge network, the project contributes to more accessible, resilient and high-quality medical services for residents of the Lithuanian–Polish border area. It also strengthens long-term cooperation between healthcare institutions and supports better coordination of cross-border healthcare services.
