Lithuanian Association for the Care of People with Impaired Intelligence “Viltis”
Development of community services for persons with impaired intelligence in the Vilnius region.
A deinstitutionalization process is underway in Lithuania, during which people with impaired intelligence move from care institutions to co-living homes. No more than 10 people live in there. New socially-oriented workshops will be organised and the necessary equipment will be purchased.
The transition from institutional care to family and community-based services requires the promotion and support of work skills. Residents of co-living homes and young people with impaired intelligence from the communities will participate in classes five times a week. The partners will be able to share their experiences on promoting the working skills of people with impaired intelligence and strengthen cooperation between Lithuania and Poland.
