Project summary:
The Lithuania–Poland cross-border region is developing its potential as an attractive destination for family tourism by making better use of its rich intangible cultural heritage. The project brings together partners from both countries to create a joint family-friendly tourism route and develop new tourism products tailored to the needs and expectations of families. Tourism sites are being adapted with interactive exhibits and family-friendly amenities, while educational and cultural events provide new ways to discover the region’s heritage. Local tourism service providers, entrepreneurs and specialists are also taking part in training to strengthen their skills in developing innovative and sustainable tourism products. Through cross-border cooperation, the partners exchange experience and good practices and jointly prepare a toolkit for tourism specialists and municipalities on using intangible cultural heritage for tourism development and promotion. These activities support local communities and businesses, help address seasonal tourism challenges and contribute to sustainable tourism and the development of the regional economy.
