Project summary:
Druskininkai Municipality and Ełk City Municipality are joining forces to address common challenges related to the deteriorating condition of local water bodies and their impact on ecosystems and recreation.
The project aims to improve the condition of selected lakes and ponds in both municipalities and develop practical solutions for their long-term protection and maintenance. Activities include scientific research, water body restoration measures, environmental education and the establishment of a Volunteer Water Monitoring Center in Ełk. The partners also exchange knowledge and experience through joint meetings and educational activities and develop a guide with recommendations for protecting and maintaining water bodies.
By bringing together local authorities, experts, educators and other stakeholders from both sides of the border, the project supports joint approaches to water management, strengthens environmental awareness and contributes to more sustainable and attractive cross-border communities.
