“REHAB” project selected as a finalist in Interreg Slam 2026-2027

2026-07-07

The “REHAB” project has been selected as one of the finalists of the Interreg Slam 2026-2027, a Europe-wide storytelling competition that highlights the impact of Interreg projects and showcases inspiring stories of cross-border cooperation.

This year’s competition received 71 applications from 25 Interreg programmes, making it the largest Interreg Slam edition to date. Following the evaluation process, “REHAB” was chosen among six finalists from across Europe.

Supporting Better Rehabilitation Across Borders

The “REHAB” project addresses a growing need for accessible and high-quality rehabilitation services in the Lithuanian-Polish border region.

By bringing together a rehabilitation hospital in Lithuania and a public health institution in Poland, the project strengthens rehabilitation services for both children and adults through joint professional training, exchange of expertise, upgraded equipment and infrastructure, and the integration of psychotherapy into rehabilitation programmes.

The project aims to improve access to comprehensive rehabilitation services and enhance the quality of care provided to patients on both sides of the border.

What Happens Next?

As a finalist, “REHAB” will now work together with the Interact team to create a professional promotional video presenting the project’s story and achievements.

In November 2026, citizens across Europe will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite Interreg Slam story through social media. The competition will culminate at the Interreg Knowledge Fair in March 2027, where finalists will present their stories before an international audience of policymakers, programme managers, and European cooperation stakeholders.

We would like to thank Abromiškės Rehabilitation Hospital for initiating and submitting the “REHAB” project application to the competition!
