The State Border Guard Service launched a new project “Joint Initiatives to Strengthen the Security of the Lithuanian-Polish Border / Border Protection.” The project enables a more effective counter of hybrid threats and ensures the security of citizens.
The project includes:
✅ Expanding the use of existing drones on the 104 km stretch between Lithuania and Poland;
✅ Purchasing specialized equipment to strengthen border security;
✅ Conducting joint tactical exercises with Polish colleagues;
✅ Analyzing hybrid threats and developing a plan to control them.
“Expanding the flight range of existing drones and eliminating interference will allow us to survey the territory all the way to Poland and exchange information with partners. This will ensure faster monitoring of critical situations and a more effective coordinated response,” says Vytautas Ulevičius, project manager and head of the State Border Guard Service Border Control Organization Unit.
🤝 Project partner, Deputy Commander of the Białystok Detachment of the Polish Border Guard Service, Colonel Marek Sochanskis, emphasizes that joint activities and training will help not only ensure border security, but also the smooth movement of citizens in the Schengen area.
