Project summary:
The project focuses on developing wellness tourism in the health resorts of Supraśl (Poland) and Druskininkai (Lithuania)—two neighboring destinations that share rich natural resources and long-standing therapeutic traditions but face similar challenges of limited visibility and underdeveloped tourism offers. The initiative aims to position both resorts as leading wellness destinations in the global tourism market through joint promotion, knowledge exchange, and improved service quality. Key project outcomes include the creation of high-quality promotional materials showcasing the wellness and cultural attractions of both towns, training programs to enhance the skills and hospitality standards of local stakeholders, and collaborative partnerships to strengthen cross-border cooperation in promoting wellness tourism. In addition, events, conferences, and workshops will be organized to share best practices, foster innovation, and raise awareness about the potential of wellness tourism. The project’s beneficiaries include local communities, who will gain new economic opportunities and improved quality of life; the tourism industry, which will benefit from increased visitor numbers and revenues; and visitors themselves, who will enjoy enriched wellness experiences that support health and relaxation. By adopting a cross-border and holistic approach, the project leverages the complementary strengths and resources of both regions, creating synergies that would be unattainable individually. Its innovative model—combining wellness development, capacity building, and cultural exchange—aims to bring lasting change, increasing international recognition and establishing Supraśl and Druskininkai as leading destinations in the European wellness tourism landscape.
