Project summary:
The project addresses the shared challenge of an ageing population and its wide-ranging social and economic impacts, including limited access to quality healthcare, increasing demand for home care, and the emotional strain placed on families caring for older relatives. It highlights the need for a more comprehensive approach to ageing that supports not only seniors, but also their caregivers and wider communities.
The main objective is to improve access to services that promote active and healthy ageing in Giżycko and Varėna, with a strong focus on mental well-being and the shift from institutional care towards family- and community-based solutions.
Through cross-border cooperation, the partners develop and test a new package of services in day care centres, based on shared knowledge, experience, and good practices. This supports the creation of more effective and accessible care models for older people.
