Project “Strengthening Firefighting Services in the Lithuanian-Polish Border Region” brings together firefighting services from Raseiniai in Lithuania and Sejny in Poland to improve emergency response capabilities and enhance public safety. Partners are modernising firefighting equipment, upgrading infrastructure and strengthening firefighters’ skills through joint training and exchange activities. New firefighting vehicles and rescue equipment, together with improved facilities, support more efficient operations and a faster response to emergencies. Training programmes cover first aid, psychological preparedness and advanced rescue techniques, while public awareness initiatives promote fire prevention and safety, including through the installation of smoke detectors. By combining resources, sharing expertise and strengthening cross-border cooperation, the project contributes to better-prepared firefighting services, safer communities and improved emergency response on both sides of the border.
