Project summary:
Lithuania Minor - Masuria. Local heritage - trans-regional cooperation. explores the rich but unevenly recognized cultural heritage of Lithuania Minor and Mazury in the Lithuanian–Polish border region.
It aims to bring greater visibility to this shared history, where traditions, architecture, and cultural narratives have long connected communities on both sides of the border yet remain differently known in Lithuania and Poland. The initiative seeks to strengthen cross-border understanding and cooperation by supporting museums and local communities in presenting this heritage in a more accessible and engaging way. It also aims to make cultural resources more inclusive and easier to experience for a wider audience.
The project restores selected historical buildings, enhances museum spaces with accessible solutions for visitors with different needs, and develops engaging multilingual educational materials. A key feature is the creation of a cross-border cultural route and cooperation network, linking institutions in both countries to help bring the story of Lithuania Minor and Mazury closer to visitors and local communities alike.
