Project summary:
The project focuses on cross-border cooperation between the health resort towns of Gołdap, Augustów, and Druskininkai, with Suprasl and Birštonas as associated partners, aiming to build a long-term partnership and a joint health resort brand for the Polish-Lithuanian border region. It aligns with the Programme’s priority on culture and sustainable tourism for economic development, social inclusion, and social innovation.
Key project activities include:
Developing a coherent brand strategy for health resorts on the border.
Implementing joint promotional campaigns to raise visibility.
Creating publicly accessible health resort infrastructure in the partner towns.
The project addresses the underused natural resources, tourism infrastructure, and health services (mineral waters, climatotherapy) of the resorts, aiming to offer integrated, year-round experiences that combine wellness, leisure, and cultural activities.
Target beneficiaries include residents, tourists, local entrepreneurs, tourism organizers, and local governments. By strengthening cross-border cooperation and promoting a unified brand, the project will enhance the competitiveness, visibility, and sustainable development of the health resort towns, marking the first initiative of this kind in the Polish-Lithuanian border area.
