Project summary:
The project aims to strengthen cross-border cooperation between Lithuanian and Polish fire and rescue services in responding to oil product fires and chemical spill incidents. It focuses on improving preparedness and operational capacity through joint planning, training activities, exercises, and the acquisition of modern response equipment.
The main objective is to increase the effectiveness of coordinated cross-border actions in dealing with environmental and industrial accidents, while also protecting nature, biodiversity, and urban green infrastructure. A key emphasis is placed on improving procedures for faster and more efficient emergency response in the border region.
The project delivers jointly developed response solutions, an updated cross-border cooperation framework, and new specialized equipment for both Lithuanian and Polish firefighters, contributing to safer and better-coordinated emergency services on both sides of the border.
