Project summary:
The project aims to develop a joint tourism route connecting the Suwałki, Lazdijai, and Alytus regions, promoting their unique cultural and natural heritage. It addresses the shared challenge of low regional visibility, which limits tourism growth. The project seeks to increase visitor numbers, support economic development, and enhance the attractiveness of these regions for both domestic and international tourists.
Partners will organize cross-border events such as fashion weeks, wedding celebrations, poetry evenings, and a tourism networking conference. Additionally, a traveling exhibition, “Cross-Border Women” and “Cross-Border Men,” will showcase culture, fashion, music, and traditions across the three regions. The project will benefit local communities, the tourism sector, and visitors, generating jobs, boosting the economy, and preserving cultural heritage.
A cross-border approach ensures that the challenges of promoting these regions cannot be tackled by a single region alone. The project fosters cooperation among museums, tourism institutions, and local communities, strengthening networks, developing joint tourism products, and promoting sustainable use of cultural and natural heritage. By engaging local communities, enhancing infrastructure, and preserving traditions, the project creates a lasting impact, transferring heritage to future generations and connecting the regions through a shared “road to memories infinity.”
