Project summary:
The project addresses the need to strengthen cross-border tourism development by improving cooperation between museums in Alytus and Suwałki and making cultural heritage more attractive and accessible to visitors. Analysis of visitor needs shows that modern museums should offer more interactive, educational, and experience-based activities that engage families, youth, and diverse audiences.
The main objective is to develop a joint tourism product that connects both regions through shared history, culture, and storytelling, turning museums into more dynamic and experience-oriented attractions. The project includes the creation of new exhibition spaces and outdoor cultural attractions, as well as the development of joint events such as study visits, festivals, camps, and cultural activities.
By promoting cooperation between tourism institutions and engaging local communities, the project aims to increase the visibility of the cross-border region as a single tourism destination. It is expected to strengthen local economies, improve cultural exchange, and support the sustainable development of tourism based on shared cultural and natural heritage.
